How to Discard Needles, Syringes or Syringe Needle Combo Packs Safely?

Many of us use Medical Syringes and Hypodermic Needles daily and just throw them away in the regular trash. That is not a kind thing to do. Because that needle could puncture a sanitation worker who works at your Local Trash facility or even your Cleaning Lady, who works just as hard as you do, to sustain his/her family, and transmit them a deadly disease.

Cuts, Punctures from Medical Sharps or Needle Stick injuries as they are called, transmit infections and diseases; Can even be life-threatening, therefore, Safe Disposal of Medical Sharps is a Must.

Disposing of Needles and Syringes safely is the kindest thing you can do if you are a home needle user.

You must use a Sharps Container to dispose of Needle Syringes and Lancets (the tiny little device that you use on your fingers or forearm) when you need to test your Blood Sugar levels or any other test that requires a blood sample. All Sharps are considered Hazardous Medical Waste and they should be disposed of, according to the laws of your city and state.

After you have used a needle syringe, please do not throw the used medical syringe and needle pack supplies away with the household trash. Always use a sharps container to dispose of your syringes and sharps, both needles and lancets—this is the first step one can take toward the safe disposal of sharps.

MedOnTheGo.com deeply cares for you, the environment, and the earth. Therefore, whenever you order a box or boxes of syringe needles, Please do consider adding a 1-Quart Sharps Container to your order. All you need to do is to put the lid on the container and start using it. Every time, you need to throw a used needle or Syringe, you drop it in the Sharps Container. Please get ready to discard the Sharps Container once it's 3/4 th Full. Once it is full, order a new one, perhaps a larger one-gallon sharps container.

The Next Question is How do you get rid of a Sharps Container once it is filled. Please do not throw it away with the Regular Trash.

Instead, you can simply take it with you when you go to see your doctor next time and drop it off there. All doctor’s offices must comply with the safe disposal of Sharps, therefore you can rest assured they will discard it in an appropriate manner.

Alternately, you can drop off filled sharps containers at Local Pharmacies, Health Departments, sometimes even the Police and Fire Stations. Here is an FDA Link that talks about How to Get Rid of a Sharps Container.

Be kind to the environment and all who inhabit it with safe needle disposal.

Life has become very fast, and there is an urgent need to keep on doing things. The pace is frantic, and each one of us, no matter what the state of our physical or emotional health, needs to meet deliverables and continue. Otherwise, we will not survive or thrive. That is generally the state of affairs, no matter what country or continent one lives in. In this frantic pace for survival, we as human beings have lost kindness. Kindness to others, to the environment, to the earth or the animals. I just read on CNN, that they a Huge Whale washed ashore dead with 90 Tons of Plastic Waste in its Stomach. We are simply throwing away plastic into our oceans and not caring what it does to the Living Beings in the Ocean. We are just living for Ourselves- My Wife, My Kids, My Job, My Car, My House and that is it.

Shouldn’t we change Gears a Little Bit here, why not Kindness is the New Cool should become our New Mantra? Being Kind to Others is such a cool thing to do, which is why I am writing about kindness on a website that sells Medical Products like Needles and Syringes.
