I just got off the phone with someone from Adobe who said they cannot help me with my problem. I have Adobe Acrobat XI, I am logged in, and I am trying to merge two files into a single file for school. The representative said that I can merge a total of 12 pages with the program I am using, yet when I click on the tab to merge, it sends me to the website to purchase additional software/packages. I am just trying to find someone that can help me.

As per the issue description above, you are not able to combine/merge PDF files using Acrobat 11, Is that correct?
You can combine/merge PDF files through https://cloud.acrobat.com/combinepdf sign in with your Adobe ID and password.
If you are trying to combine/merge files using the free desktop version of Adobe Reader 11, it will direct you to the online link.
Hope this helps.

From your description it seems you're using Reader, not Acrobat.
Acrobat can merge as many files as you want to, and does not send you to a website when you do so.
